The surge in Traditional Chinese Medicine prices is inevitable

According to Zyctd.com, the price has grown from 18 yuan to 44 yuan per kilogram for astragalus, increased from 40 yuan to 140 yuan per kilogram for fritillariae thunbergii, jumped from 15.5 yuan to 90 yuan per kilogram for largehead atractylodes rhizome, and climbed from 46 yuan to 150 yuan per kilogram for codonopsis pilosula. The price has soared from 1.5 yuan to 90 yuan per kilogram for cortex moutan radicis, marking a remarkable 600-fold increase. The price of cow bezoar, a precious Traditional Chinese Medicine, has skyrocketed from 570,000 yuan to 1.2 million yuan per kilogram this year.


"In the past, a dose of TCN only cost 200 or 300 yuan. Now, a week's dose costs over 1,000 yuan," said Shen Sufang during an interview at Jinhua Yijiantang Pharmacy as she purchased Traditional Chinese Medicine.
